SameDayDesk · Report · June 2026

Healthtech is the least AI-search-ready industry we tested.

Patients are increasingly asking ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI which provider to use and what their symptoms mean. So we checked whether the digital-health companies serving them can even be read by those engines. Across seven industries we scanned, healthtech came last — averaging just 63/100, with several household telehealth names scoring a D.

The results

Scored June 23, 2026 with the same free AI Readiness Checker anyone can run. Each homepage is checked for AI-crawler access (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended), JSON-LD structured data, title/meta, Open Graph, an XML sitemap, and llms.txt.

Why this matters more in health than anywhere else

Health is one of the highest-intent things people now ask AI assistants about — "best telehealth for X," "is Y covered," "alternatives to Z." When an AI engine can't read a provider's site, it falls back to whoever it can read: a competitor, a directory, or a generic source. The gaps among the D-graders were consistent and entirely fixable:

None of this requires touching the product or making medical claims — it's web hygiene that makes an existing site legible to AI search. The A-graders (Headspace, Teladoc) simply ship server-readable content, structured data, a clean robots.txt, and a sitemap.

Method: each company's homepage was fetched once and scored on AI-crawler access, JSON-LD, title/meta, Open Graph, XML sitemap, and llms.txt. Point-in-time, homepage-level snapshot, not a full-site audit or a medical/clinical assessment. Run your own at samedaydesk.com/tools/ai-readiness.
